Are there any real advantages of using patient derived cancer cell lines over traditional immortalised cancer cell lines , which have been the foundation of many discoveries both in cancer medicine and biology so far ? The answer is Yes and No. Both models have their caveats and advantages , and is summarised nicely in the table I came across below.
