NEW INSIGHTS INTO CARCINOGENESIS USING PROSTATE CANCER AS A MODEL

Recent elegant study  in the journal CELL provides evidence  that  "GENETIC SPURTS or CHROMOPLEXY" result in sequential activation of cancer causing genes  followed by inactivation of tumor suppressing genes or vice versa. However, what is the cause of these spurts ? genome instability ?
